Hunter...

I really want to remember what these early days have been like...

When we 1st brought Hunter home he ate, pooped, and slept all the time.  He was hardly ever awake.  We tried tummy time pretty early on and he hated it!  He slept in his rock 'n play sleeper and only woke up to eat.  At that time I was breastfeeding with a nipple shield and pumping.  It took him forever (at least an hour) to eat and he and I always ended up covered in milk!  Alan was home during his 1st 2 weeks and we spent most of our time @ home.  He had to go to the doctor several times and we had to take him to the hospital 3 times to have his bili checked.  We had lots of visitors during those early days!

Hunter will be 4 weeks old in 2 days.  I can't believe how much he has changed already!  He holds his head up so well!  He will stay awake for an hour at a time sometime and he follows me with his eyes.  He is so sweet and I love him more than anything!  He got thrush so I hadn't been breastfeeding, only pumping.  On Sunday, I put him back to breast and he's done pretty good so far.  Today has been the 1st day I haven't had to give him more milk after he got done eating.  He's also learning to eat a little faster!  We are still using the nipple shield off and on.  We have been putting him in his crib to sleep and he does pretty good.  Usually he's up around 1-2 and then again around 5-6 to eat!  I have such a hard time staying awake to feed him.  Alan helps when he is home.  We are using the Moms on Call Method, however I have a hard time letting him cry for 3-5 minutes before I go in and get him and I also haven't been putting him in his crib for the naps!  I actually hate putting him in his crib, but I know it's best for us.

He loves, loves, loves to be outside!  Yesterday Alan took him down to the garage while he worked on the jeep and I went to the doctor.  Alan said he slept the whole time!  Hopefully we will be taking him to the lake for the 1st time soon!
